1. Door Gods-Qin Shu-bao and Wei Chi-gong
The door gods Qin Shu-bao and Wei Chi-gong of this temple were made by the artist Pan Li-shui, the first in Taiwan ever to be awarded the National Cultural Heritage Award in this category. His works are lively and vivid, particularly the eyes which can stare at viewers from all angles to strengthen the “eyes on you” function of the door gods. The elaborately drawn beard is like real hair implanted on the door with clear gradational effect. This should have been the earliest 3D painting!
2. Arch Caisson
The arch caisson in the temple is made by artist Hsu Han-chen, winner of the National Cultural Heritage Award. Hsu is a carpenter whose works are collected by the Tainan City Traditional Art Assets.
3. Statute of Master Qingshui
At least 300 years ago, an early immigrant Huang brought the statute to Taiwan from Anxi in Fujian. The statute rarely leaves the temple, except for important events. On the deity’s arrival in Taiwan, life was tough then. As medicine was not popular, villagers often scratched the clay on the statue as medication. As a result, the statute’s face is full of scars. Even today, the deity does not allow people to fix his scars.
4. Bronze Incense Burner and Stone Incense Burners
The bronze incense burner made in the reign of Emperor Xuande, Ming dynasty, and the stone incense burners made in 1881 and 1885 (the 7th and the 11th years of the reign of Emperor Guangxu, Qing dynasty, are the treasures of the temple now kept in the exhibition hall of our culture and education center.
5. Four Guards of Master Qingshui
Like the Caturmaharajakayikas (Four Heavenly Kings) Yuhuang Dadi (Jade Emperor), Qianliyan (General of All Seeing) and Shunfeng’er (General of All Hearing) of Matsu, Master Qingshui has four guards: General Zhang, General Huang, General Su, and General Lee. These four guards are rarely worshipped in other temples worshipping Master Qingshui in Taiwan. Each to these four guards erecting in the temple square is 407cm tall. They should have been pioneered in Taiwan by this temple. It is said that when Master Qingshui first arrived at Qingshuiyan in Anxi, Fujian, he wished to build a house there for practice to fight with the ghosts harming earlier settlers in the area. After defecting the ghosts, Master Qingshui adopted the four chiefs as his four guards.
6. Color 3D Dragon Painting
On the stairs in front of the temple is the 3D dragon painting that revolutionized the traditional temple dragon style. This aggressive work depicting the dragon presenting the pearl is made by Master Su Jia-xian, aka Dragon Painting Master. Every year before the Spring Festival, Su will edit the painting again.

History
The temple was built 272 years ago in 1747. In the early years of Emperor Jiaqing, Qing dynasty, the temple (in its previous location) was the religious center of immigrants in early settlements including Shenei, Lintouwei, and Tianliaozi. To thank for the deity’s protection, people of these three villages raised funds to build a bigger temple. In Tianliao, a villager called Huang worshipped Master Qingshui, Tianshang Shengmu (Matsu), and Guansheng Dijun (Holy Ruler Deity Guan) welcomed to the place by the third-generation ancestor. A villager in Shenei also worshipped Chifu Qianshui (General Chi) at home. Therefore, they decided to add Master Qingshui (representing Tianliaozi), Tianshang Shengmu (Matsu) (representing Lintouwei), and Chifu Qianshui (General Chi) (representing Shenei) in the new temple called “Qianjinzhuang Wanxinggong Temple”.
The temple was refurnished in the reigns of Emperor Daoguang and Emperor Xianfeng, Qing dynasty. In 1880, Magistrate Zhang Jun rebuilt the temple into a southern China style and named it “Qianjin Wangxinggong Temple” (i.e. Qianjinmiao Temple). The appearance and the facility of the temple were thus completed.
As time goes by, the population escalated and the previous temple was not enough to accommodate increasing worshippers. The “temple expansion project” was thus initiated in November 1973 after demolishing the “old temple”.
